HIFU Body Contouring & Skin Tightening in Adelaide
Advanced non-surgical fat reduction, cellulite smoothing and skin tightening using focused
ultrasound technology. No downtime. Real results.
What is HIFU
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a non-invasive treatment that uses focused ultrasound energy to target the deep layers of your skin. Unlike surface-level treatments, HIFU reaches the dermis and the SMAS layer, the same layer surgeons work on during a facelift,
to stimulate new collagen production from the inside out.
The ultrasound energy heats targeted tissue to around 70°C, which triggers two powerful effects: it permanently destroys stubborn fat cells and stimulates your body’s natural collagen production. The result is tighter, firmer skin and a more contoured shape that continues to improve over the weeks following treatment.
At Halo Glo in Mawson Lakes, Adelaide, we use HIFU for both body contouring and skin tightening. Our specialised cartridges target fat reduction, cellulite smoothing and skin firming in a single session, making it one of the most versatile non-surgical body treatments available.
How does HIFU body contouringt work?
During your HIFU session at Halo Glo, focused ultrasound energy is delivered to precise depths beneath the skin. This energy bypasses the surface entirely, so there’s no damage to your outer skin. Instead, it creates controlled thermal points deep in the tissue that destroy fat cells and
trigger collagen remodelling.
Treatment Areas
HIFU body contouring is effective on:
- Abdomen and lower belly
- Love handles and flanks
- Inner and outer thighs
- Upper arms
- Back fat and bra line
We recommend 2 to 4 sessions spaced every 2 to 3 months for optimal results. Your body continues to flush out the treated fat cells naturally over the weeks following each session, so results improve progressively
Is HIFU right for you?
HIFU body contouring is ideal if you’re close to your goal weight but have stubborn areas of fat, loose skin or cellulite that won’t shift with diet and exercise. It’s not a weight loss treatment, it’s a body sculpting treatment for people who want to refine and tighten specific areas.
You may be a great candidate if you:
- Are generally healthy and maintain a stable weight
- Have stubborn fat pockets on your abdomen, thighs, arms or flanks
- Want to improve skin firmness and reduce cellulite
- Prefer a non-invasive treatment with zero downtime
- Want results that develop naturally over time
HIFU is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for those with metal implants in the treatment area. We always conduct a thorough consultation before treatment to make sure it’s right for you.
Results
What to expect during and after treatment
Your HIFU session takes approximately 30 to 60 minutes depending on the treatment area. You may feel warmth or a tingling sensation during the procedure, but most clients find it very comfortable. There’s no anaesthetic needed and you can return to your normal activities immediately after.
Mild redness or tenderness in the treated area is normal and usually settles within a day or two. The real results develop over the following 8 to 12 weeks as your body produces new collagen and flushes out the destroyed fat cells. Many clients see continued improvement for up to 6 months after treatment.
We recommend protecting the treated area from direct sun exposure and using SPF 30+ sunscreen as part of your aftercare routine

Most clients achieve their desired results in 2 to 4 sessions, spaced 2 to 3 months apart.
Results continue to develop between sessions as your body produces new collagen and processes the treated fat cells.
Most clients describe HIFU as a warm or tingling sensation. It’s generally well-tolerated and doesn’t require any anaesthetic. Comfort levels can vary depending on the treatment area, but our therapists adjust the intensity to keep you comfortable throughout.
Both are non-surgical fat reduction treatments, but they work differently. Fat cavitation uses low-frequency ultrasound to break down fat cells, while HIFU uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to target deeper tissue layers. HIFU is particularly effective for skin tightening and cellulite reduction in addition to fat destruction. At Halo Glo, we offer both treatments and can
recommend the best option during your free consultation.
